why wedding photography is important - charlotte with her daughter and nan giggling over a sore lemon!
Wedding photography for me is not about the location, the dress or décor. Of course, these things matter and I’ll capture beautiful photographs of them but for me, wedding photography is all about the special moments, the connections and the people. This photograph from my own wedding is my absolute favourite and shows the importance of wedding photography for me. My Nan is busy telling a story, Florence sneaked the lemon out of Nan’s G&T and is shocked at the taste and I’m laughing at her reaction. A simple moment but so, so special to me and thanks to this photo one I’ll never forget.

So this is how I approach both weddings and family photography. Unobtrusively documenting those very special moments for you, so that you also have your special memories to keep forever.

How long have you been photographing weddings?
My camera has been with me since my travels to West Africa in 2006. I started my Photography degree in 2007 and my doors “officially” opened in 2009.

How do we book you to be our wedding photographer?
For your wedding, submit the contact form on my website, email me or call me so I can see if I have your date available. If I’m available, we’ll set up a date to meet or phone chat to discuss your wedding further. A £400 deposit and contract are required to secure your date and I work on a first come first serve basis with deposit and contract in hand.

How do you work on our wedding day?
I have another professional photographer second shooting with me on your wedding day, assisting me and also creating additional beautiful photographs from another viewpoint. We work discreetly, not intrusive, enabling you and your guests to relax and feel comfortable on an extremely special day.

How will we know the photography schedule/timeline for the day?
Around one month before the wedding we can meet up or Skype/Facetime/chat on the phone. We will go through your wedding day in detail; timings, requested photos, family and bridal party members, suppliers etc. We will create a final timeline for the wedding day photography which me and my second shooter will go by. As we have discussed your day in detail, we will have no need to ask you questions on the day, we can work discreetly and you can enjoy your day!

Do we get the copyright to our photos?
All images are dual copyright between Charlotte Giddings Photography and you. This is explained in more detail in the contract between us. However, you are able to print, duplicate and copy your images freely. The photographs come supplied on a personalised USB and in two forms. In high resolution to print to the best quality and also a lower resolution enabling you to load photographs faster to social media and devices. It would be great if you used any photos on social media to put a credit: Charlotte Giddings Photography with a link to my site: www.charlottegiddingsphotography.co.uk

Yes course you can! I do an “all in” package including an album and USB along with your photographic coverage all day for £2200. By all means if you wanted to purchase an album after your wedding at a later date we can certainly work on that too! Parent albums can also be done with there own favourite photos in.

Do you have liability insurance? Are you covered?
Yes I am and along with public indemnity.

How long do formals (family photographs) take on the wedding day and when is the best time to do them?
I try to keep wedding formals to 10 minutes so it does not eat in to too much of your wedding day, typically immediate family, usually after the service at the wedding reception.

How many weddings do you shoot a year?
I only book a limited number of weddings a year so that I can give the most of me to you! I shoot no more than 20-30 weddings a year.

If you would like to book a portrait session, call or e-mail me and we’ll chat about what type of session you are interested in e.g. boudoir, engagement, portrait. A 50% deposit and completed contract is required to secure your session. After I receive the deposit, I’ll send you more information about the session and we’ll decide on a final location.
