It was great to meet Catherine and Phil once again after originally meeting them for an informal coffee last year. They had booked Combermere Abbey as their wedding venue and a Catholic Church in Nantwich for their ceremony. It was then time to firm up suppliers!
I was delighted to chat about their wedding plans, learning about how they meet, their engagement and Phil’s dog, Red.
I was over the moon when they said they would like to book me to shoot their Combermere Abbey wedding and also to book a pre-wedding shoot.
Making it personal
We chose to do the majority of the shoot at Phil’s parents. It is the family home that Phil grew up in with his family and also with his beloved dog, Red. To get Red involved in some of the photos was really important to Phil as he would not be attending the wedding. Also it was lovely to capture the gardens which Phil’s mum and dad tentatively attend to..
We enjoyed some time around the garden, enjoying a brew, nattering away, and helping Catherine and Phil feel more relaxed with the camera and us getting to know each other more.
Not forgetting the Bluebells!
We then hopped in the cars and headed up to Combermere Abbey to chat about their wedding day plans some more and also some photos amongst the bluebells.
Bluebells are special to them both as when they had to spend time apart during the pandemic, Phil would send photos to Catherine of the bluebells at home. She loved the daily updates and also link to what Combermere Abbey is well known for this time of year – their Bluebell Walk. With it being their wedding venue, it was certainly a wonderful choice and fond memories to look back on!
