Best Wedding Venues Shropshire
Over the past few years, I have been fortunate to photograph at some of the best wedding venues Shropshire. (As well as Cheshire, Staffordshire and North Wales.) I wanted to share with you some of my favourite best wedding venues in Shropshire:
This private and exclusive place is a remarkable hidden gem on the borders of Cheshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire and North Wales. Combermere Abbey is a fantastic venue if you want to make a weekend of your wedding. The historic self-catering cottages make your wedding sociable and upbeat the moment you arrive. The cottages outline the court yard. Its really exciting to capture this sociable atmosphere on your wedding day! The staff are amazing. Looking after you is paramount and they are very experienced with weddings. The magnificent North Wing in the Abbey has recently having been restored. Its a wonderful way to end your wedding day with a night over and luxury bed and breakfast.
Combermere is set in a beauty of parkland and ancient trees and stunning walled gardens. Its a photographer’s dream as which ever time of year there is always an abundance of colour! This wonderful venue can cater from a very small wedding to larger weddings of 150+.
This venue is very special to me. I also got married here! This is another ancient English gem in the Shropshire countryside. Soulton Hall itself is a beautiful historic Manor House and also based on a working farm. The Ashton family sustain this farm, filling fields with wonderful crops (also perfect for your wedding photographs!) but again adds to the beauty of the setting and also that the venue is well and truly loved.
There is strong emphasis here at Soulton Hall that when you book you have exclusivity and also the flexibility of how you would like to run your wedding. The Ashton family believe that your wedding at Soulton Hall is like hosting your wedding at your own home, but with a little extra help and facilities. I think they have this spot on here!
Iscoyd Park is a beautiful country house wedding venue. Exclusive for hire and is surrounded by 18th Century Parkland and stunning gardens. It is situated on the borders of North Wales, Shropshire and Cheshire. Iscoyd is large enough to hold 160 people for a wedding reception and can accommodate up to 30 people over night. The country house retains the character, history and welcoming warmth of the family home that it is.
As with all venues, you can hire them all day and say “I do!” with a civil ceremony. Or a church ceremony and travel to your wedding reception. The beauty of Iscoyd is that its a stones throw away from the most idillic church, St Mary’s Whitewell also.
Iscoyd has a magical way of making everyone feel at ease and at home. It is another little Shropshire gem and I am delighted to work here too!!
Tern Hill Hall Hotel
Tern Hill Hall is run by The Marson Family and the wedding team. Its set in 6 acres of land. The grounds are maintained and improved year on year to a high standard making more wonderful areas outside for photographs.
The Orangery can seat upwards from 40 guests to 150 guests and boasts of large bi-folding doors that open onto the garden which makes for a ceremony that is truly special.
The Dining Room is ideal for a more intimate wedding ceremony. It can seat up to 50 of your nearest and dearest friends and family.
Delbury Hall is a magnificent wedding venue in rural South Shropshire. Fabulous architecture, breathtaking grounds and contemporary facilities.
The house is a Georgian mansion, sits at the heart of 80 acres of landscaped, south-facing gardens and parkland. Ceremonies can take place is various places at this venue. The option of in the Main Hall with its galleried landing, views across the lake. In warmer months ceremonies can take place under the wedding Pagoda, seating up to 150 guests. Couples choosing a religious ceremony will find St Peter’s Church, Diddlebury situated just at the end of the garden. An amble along a short pathway to the side of the main house takes you straight to this stunning Saxo-Norman church. Almost as if Delbury Hall had been purposely built as a venue for guests to celebrate following a wedding ceremony!
Pendrell Hall is a gorgeous Victorian Country House with a private six-acre estate all for your wedding day!
The venue is licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 170 guests. The Morning Room within Pendrell Hall is stunning and is most often used for the civil ceremony. Or English garden wedding during the summer months, with the ceremony taking place in vintage inspired bandstand. Along with local churches for a religious ceremony.
Pendrell Hall is also quite unique in that they do not apply any corkage fee or service fee on drinks! This is a fantastic venue on the border of Shropshire, Worcestershire & Warwickshire in the West Midlands.
Ironbridge Gorge Musuem
Ironbridge Gorge is still a remarkable, and beautiful, place to visit today. This is why Ironbridge Gorge Museum is branching out into weddings in Coalbrookdale., Shropshire.
Just up the bank is a glorious church, Holy Trinity, Coalbrookdale (with beautiful views of the valley) if you wanted to have a religious ceremony. Or back at Coalbrookdale Musuem of Iron – in Covered Bays is a wonderful warehouse/barn feel room that can seat up to 150 guests for a civil ceremony and also for your wedding reception. Covered Bays can be decorated to how you like. The rustic, vintage and historical feel makes it a fantastic laid back wedding venue.
Ironbridge itself is a fantastic area to venture off to do some photos away from your guests and capture you in some truly picturesque Shropshire and historical scenery.
