Morzine, France Wedding Photographer – Lisa and David
Lisa and David’s wedding is the second wedding I have been fortunate to photograph abroad this year and again felt very privileged to do it. I had an unbelievable time! I flew to Geniva, Switzerland and travelled to Morzine into the Alps.
When travelling, all I could think of were the scenes out of “The Sound of Music”. This part of the world was spectacular! It was great to be travelling through the Alps in the summer, I really appreciated the views and all I kept thinking was “Lisa and David’s photos are going to be AMAZING!!!”
Lisa and David hired out a chalet in the town of Morzine- Chalet Eira, where the reception was held and everyone was staying for the weekend. Typically this chalet is really busy and set up for the ski seasons in the winter, but never the less they knew exactly what they were doing, they went that extra mile for Lisa and David all weekend.
Lisa and David both managed to avoid one another all morning and both got ready at the chalet. Family and friends were floating in an out checking if anything needed doing and sending their well wishes, it was so relaxed and sociable.
Their family and guests all caught the bus to Lac Montriond (Lake Montriond!) which for a ceremony was such a wonderful backdrop (check out the views in the photos!)
Lisa made her way with her Dad to the lake with one of their friends who had hired a wonderful car especially.
The ceremony was full of laughter and tears and plenty of sunshine! Lisa’s mum and step-dad made their first debut singing a song they had written in welsh and also playing the guitar – I was actually close to tears too, it was beautiful!
After drinks, group photos and chance to appreciate the setting, the guests ventured back to the chalet and I went with Lisa and David for a small detour up into the mountains to do some further photos of them alone, I just could not believe how lucky I was to be doing something I really really love!
Without getting to carried away in the mountains we went back to the chalet and let Lisa and Dave chat with everyone before the wedding breakfast began.
The room was wonderfully set up with an incredible macaroon style cake! The speeches went ahead after the wedding breakfast and everyone had chance to freshen up while the chalet staff reinforced the floor – yes you read that right!! Scaffolding was giving the floor an extra helping hand before the real party started!
Lisa and David flew in an Irish Band who normally perform in ski season but after the recommendations from Chalet Eira, had to have them at the wedding! I do not think I have seen a band like it! EVERYONE was up dancing ALL night, they had encores of encores which went on for 45 minutes!!
Thank you Lisa and David for an unbelievable time and I wish you a wonderful honeymoon in Canada!
